Overview

Oasys Water provides technology that lowers the cost to produce clean water from salt water sources. Using natural or forward osmosis, we help customers reduce the cost to recover water, eliminate the problems associated with wastewater disposal and preserve the world's fresh water supplies.

Why do we think it's so important? Because the world has a finite amount of fresh water. To ensure a sustainable supply for future generations, developing and implementing cost-effective water reuse and desalination technologies will be crucial.

Borrowing directly from nature, Oasys engineers have developed a simple, inexpensive way to lower the cost of producing clean water from saline sources. It's water made simple.

CEO's Message

The dictionary defines an oasis as a place of peace, safety, or happiness made possible by the presence of water.

There is no life without water. Whether you think of water as a social good or an economic good, water has no substitute, at any price - the only commodity in the world of which this is true.

That's why it is such an exciting time to be part of Oasys Water. Our mission is to develop technology that lowers the cost to recover water so that the world's supply of fresh water can be preserved. Following three years of development, we're ready to bring our technology to market and help companies and communities recover and reuse water, minimize waste water costs, and eliminate problems with disposal.

We anticipate a continued growth that will allow us to build on our achievements while benefitting the environment. We are proud to share our progress with employees, investors, and the public...while creating the sense of peace, safety and happiness that we all find...from water.

Welcome to Oasys Water!

Engineered Osmosis (EO™)

Engineered Osmosis

(EO™) is a proprietary platform that incorporates forward osmosis and a draw solution recovery technique to make salt water treatment economical. How does it work? It's simple

a graphic of our desalinization process

First, Oasys uses a special membrane that achieves over 99% rejection of unwanted salts, similar to reverse osmosis. However, unlike reverse osmosis, there is no high-pressure pumping required. Instead, a draw solution passes over the backside of the membrane in a countercurrent flow. The draw solution is a mixture of readily available salts that have a low boiling point and can easily change from liquid to gas phase. The concentrated draw solution creates a strong force, pulling fresh water across the membrane and leaving contaminants behind.

Next, the draw solution is introduced to low temperature heat. Water is not boiled, just heated, turning the draw solution from a liquid into a gas and leaving only fresh water behind. The draw solution is condensed and used over and over in a continuous process.

Benefits of EO™ include:

  • More water: Nearly twice as much fresh water produced from seawater as compared to reverse osmosis.
  • Less energy: No high-pressure pumping or boiling of water is required. Instead, liquid stays liquid using only low temperature heat.
  • Lower cost: Simple components, smaller footprint, less waste and lower operating costs result in a savings up to 50%.
